School Lunches – Free of Charge
We are in a position to provide hot lunches for all children for the entire school year.
There is no charge for this food as we have received funding from the Department to provide this service.
We have hired a company to provide this food – they have put in a kitchen and all food is prepared freshly in the school. Some of you have received a letter back in June, which will give you details of the App you must download and how to order the food for your child. This is a fantastic service for our school, and we are delighted to provide this service to all of the families attending CBS Primary Tralee.
Mobile Phone Number
Parents must make sure the school has an up-to-date mobile phone number for you so that the school can contact you if your child needs to go home. Please save the school numbers to your phone 0667124029 0876386917
New Staff
A number of new appointments have been made to our staff during the Summer Holidays.
We wish these new members of staff the very best as they take up their positions with us and hope their time here will benefit the children and themselves.
When you arrive at the school:
The school Gate will open at 8.30 am
Parents are requested to Drop and Go – children will enter the school yard by the school gate and
go directly to their line and stay in their line – no ball playing etc
For the first week, Children in Junior Infants Classes are collected at the front of school near the Reception by their teachers.
If you arrive late, the school gate will be closed, and these children enter by the door near secretary’s office.
Home Time
Junior Infants are collected by parents from the door near the Secretary’s office.
Senior Infants are collected by parents at the school gate / under the ’bridge’.
6th Class are dismissed and exit by the school gate – they collect younger brothers and sisters on their way out. Then 5th class, then 4th class and so on.
1st & 2nd Class children that are left at this stage are then brought to the school gate / bridge and parents collect from here.
Parents at Drop Off and at Home time:
Parents are advised, where possible, to “Park & Stride” and walk the short distance to the school – this will ease the pressure on the school gate at drop off time in the morning and at home time.
Uniform
Junior and Senior Infant Classes only wear the school tracksuit. Children in 1st – 6th Classes will wear their uniform and will wear the tracksuit on PE days – teachers will let them know which days.
Please remember, when wearing the School Tracksuit, children should only wear a plain navy tracksuit bottom and a plain white polo shirt.
Also please label your child’s/children’s uniform/tracksuit to ensure it returns home on fine weather days.
School Tracksuits
As you are aware, in recent years, we moved to a new school tracksuit for the children. If you have one of the older design tracksuit tops, that will do also until it wears out. If you wish to purchase a new tracksuit top, please remember it is only available from Ciara in Shindig 0667127838 or 0873924894 Email: info@shindig.ie
Booklists
As you are aware, the Department of Education is providing funding for schoolbooks for the coming year. If you would like to view the list of books the school is providing for your child, please check the school website- www.cbsprimarytralee.com
The school will supply initial stationery in September. However, parents may need to supplement this throughout the year.
‘Money Payable to the school’
On your child’s booklist you will also see a section for Money Payable to the School – this is money we ask of parents to help with costs of photocopying, art and craft materials, educational site licences and our school homework diary / journal. As most of our books now come with online resources, the book companies now charge for access to these resources, per class.
As with the book Rental, from this September, the school is reducing this cost for families with two or more children as follows: 1 child €40; 2 children €60; 3 or more €80 – we hope this helps with the burden on families at this time of year.
If you need to visit the Secretary’s Office
If you have any questions / concerns, ring the office or contact via Email: secretary@cbsprimarytralee.com or principal@cbsprimarytralee.com
