CBS Primary Tralee
Dear Parents
I hope you and your families are all well as we approach the end of what has been a very challenging 1st term for everyone in our school community. In the last few weeks, many families in our school community have been dealing with Covid-19 – we hope you are all getting through this as well as you can. It’s important to remind everyone that if you have symptoms to get a PCR Test, if your child is feeling unwell they should stay at home and if your sick child has to be collected from school, they need to stay home until they are well for 48 hours.
The children in 3rd – 6th have been fantastic since the mask-wearing began – as always, these children are magnificent at helping to keep everyone else safe.

School Closure ??
As of today, the Government are clear that the schools will remain open until the day of the holidays next Wednesday December 22nd. We will continue with our Christmas preparations in here and look forward to the next few days – a very special time in our school for children and for staff.
We hope this year that the schools will reopen in January and will stay open. However, just to be on the safe side, we will send some books and materials home before Christmas – these can be brought back in again after the holidays. We are in a great position to deliver online learning if it’s needed – please make sure you have your log-in details, if not, let your teacher know.
Christmas Raffle
Thanks to everyone for the fabulous support with our Christmas Raffle. If you haven’t bought your tickets yet, there are still two more days before we pick the winners. Remember, €2 for 1 strip of tickets, €5 for 3 strips of tickets. We will announce winners on Friday and the prizes can be collected from the office.
Christmas Concert Items
Under very difficult circumstances, the children and their teachers have been putting little Christmas items together. We will put these up on Teams for you next week and just like last year, the children will be able to show it to everyone at home during the holidays.
Christmas Crib
We will put the ‘Baby Jesus’ in our fabulous school crib next week. In keeping with tradition, the youngest child in the school will place the Baby Jesus in the crib during our very special Carol service.
Remember Holidays begin at 12.00 on Wednesday – School reopens on Thursday 6th January
