Friday 26th November
We are delighted to say our fundraising efforts for our new All-Weather playing facility “The Astroturf” are finished.
After waiting for 2 years and following on from a number of cancellations, we will broadcast our show this evening at 7.00 pm via our school Facebook page and via Youtube on the following link https://youtu.be/OqdyhS9fqno
Two years ago, we began fundraising so that we could improve our playground facilities. The staff in our school used contacts with family, friends and Tralee’s business community to persuade people to come on board as advertisers and exhibitors for tonight’s show. During the past two years we have constantly advertised these companies, and their promotions, on our school’s Facebook page. We are also delighted that the Irish American Partnership was in a position to make a fabulous donation to our fundraiser.
We thank them all sincerely for their fantastic support.
A huge word of thanks also goes to the staff who formed the Fundraising Committee and to their ongoing enthusiasm for getting this project completed – our school is a much better place because of all your hard work.
Tonight is a night to celebrate !
Our Astroturf has been completed and is now used every day as a playground for some of our classes and as a place for PE for all of the classes.
The fundraising is over and we raised what was needed to pay for it.
Please tune in to watch tonight’s show where you will get to see some of the children presenting pictures and video of our new facility. We will also have 6 contestants (parents, staff and advertisers) trying to win €1000 – it should be great fun and will be over well before the Toy Show begins.
‘Tis the Season to be Jolly
On Monday next we will enter the festive season in our school.
Our decorations, Christmas Trees and our fabulous Crib will all appear so that we can lift the spirits of everyone in our school.
Every Friday between now and the day of the Christmas Holidays will be a ‘Christmas Jumper Day’.
Our classes will put together a ‘Christmas Concert item’ and we will share this with you all via Microsoft Teams as we did last year.
We will have our usual Christmas raffle for some Christmas Hampers and some other items – tickets(€2 or 3 for €5) will go on sale on Monday 6th December.
It’s time to lighten the mood in our school after a difficult and challenging, last few months – we will do our best to make sure the children have a very positive experience during the next few weeks.
