Computers in C.B.S.
Scoil Mhuire na mBráithre, Clounalour, Tralee is pleased to have attained the Digital School Award from the NCTE. The school is one of only 6 schools in the county and we were the first mainstream school in Kerry to achieve this award.
Today in Scoil Mhuire na mBráithre, the children and staff use technology on a daily basis throughout the school, both in teaching the curriculum and in administration. We’ve installed an online attendance system, which all class teachers use to record student absences. Each classroom has an interactive whiteboard with internet access. The pupils of Scoil Mhuire na mBráithre are not simply learning computer skills, but actively using those skills to help them to learn. The staff have adopted new technologies to enhance the way they teach. We have a fully equipped computer laboratory with 31 networked computers. Children have a weekly computer class in the laboratory. This gives them a great oppurtunity to enhance their computer skills on a regular basis. This means that children and teachers are continually developing their digital skills and looking forward eagerly to further developments in this field.
