International Arts Week
The school was ablaze with colour as it celebrated International Arts Week. With a rich and vibrant school community drawn from cultures as far afield as China, the Philippines, Jamaica, India and South Africa as well as many European countries closer to home, we have a lot to celebrate.
The children focused on the art, music and dance of other countries - English Maypole dancing, Nigerian music, songs from Poland, Czech dancing as well as African drumming workshops.
The school was festooned with colourful art including Chinese lanterns, Zimbabwean animal prints and Czech coloured eggs reflecting the diversity of cultures in our school. Parents were very generous in supplying food and artefacts from their cultures to create an exciting multi-sensory display representing over 30 countries.
